BBAU 2025: Casting open, return to Dreamworld Confirmed

She MUST put her own stamp on the role, unlike Sonia who was more of a stand in. I’m not expecting her to perfect in fact those awkward moments are something I’m totally expecting it… I want to see her grow. Also engagement is going to be HUGE, in fact it’s going to be absolutely necessary and if she can get it right I image just like BBCAN’s Arisa Cox she’s be considered one of the greats by the end of her run.

Wow the hype is here people!!! I’ve come across a handful of TikTok’s talking about the revival and they’re all pretty much people who grew up watching the show. Also like I said before the show is 100% benefiting from the 7 era having been Big Brother in name only. I’m seeing some Nine era clips but even then I think the mentality is that it wasn’t as authentic as the original. Would love to see some clips of the original series make their way in to the mix.

Surprisingly, I've hardly seen any negative feedback, maybe 2 or 3 nasty comments, but the hundreds of others have been positive which is quite comforting! I think the timing is perfect, the promotional execution is on point, so much engagement! People fell in love with the OG format for a reason, because it worked! Kudos to DW for keeping it under wraps for so long, 17th June they posted that "Something up... 👀" teaser.

I'm on the Dreamworld mailing list, these were sent through yesterday morning.

"IT’S COMING HOME…TO DREAMWORLD!
Dreamworld is rolling out the welcome mat for Australia’s most iconic reality show...

That’s right, Big Brother Australia is making its grand return to Dreamworld, where it all began!

Filming for the 2025 season of Big Brother will take place inside our iconic park, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome the drama, laughs, and surprises once again.

But that’s not all. This season, you can be part of the action like never before with live shows filmed right here at the park! Expect all the big twists and eviction night drama...live from Dreamworld.

"Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing more details soon on how you can experience Big Brother up close, right here at Dreamworld.

Let the games begin and welcome home, Big Brother!"

I'm just trying to figure out what space they'd use to host an audience, unless they're utilising the old amphitheatre site and building a stage like the 2003 launch? That time of year leads into storm season so they'd have to have it all under cover for the most part.

Someone needs to get on the Giant Drop and do some filming, not me though I'm scared of heights 😂

Do you think being released yesterday could be a 3 month countdown until launch? 26th Oct or 2nd Nov, both Sunday's 👀

I think we’re about to enter another golden era of BBAU… This series may not be as ideal as we were all hoping for but I hopeful if it gets the support it needs unlike ITV, 10 will go all in for future series. Perhaps even moving it back in to its traditional time-slot. I think I’m even more excited for this than I was for BBUK.

This is drone footage of the Steel Taipan, posted 3 years ago. From 1:03 at the top right is where the old amphitheatre used to be, you can see the green bridge that used to lead to it. I was there in Oct/Nov last year, and don't think much has changed as the bridge was still there. I hope they utilise that space! If I'm nearby over the next week or so, I'll drop in and try to take some pics.

One of the last Ch7 era series was a lot of influencer Insta types. I didn't bother watching more than 1 or 2 episodes, it bored me to tears. I hope they put in a diverse range not just pretty young things but older folk too...for us older folk out here. The trouble with that mix, though is that inevitably the young ones seem to want them gone as they think the oldies will be telling them what to do. Fair enough I suppose you're in the house to have fun not to have someone act like your parent.

That is true, but hopefully it'll be the original (now older) viewers who will want to keep the older housemates in, afterall, we decide who goes (I hope 😂)

I'm really hoping that they aren't going to be looking at influencers, and more of a diverse range of people.
I'd like to think they'll do casting like they did in S1, as seen in that pre-launch behind the scenes show. It was all about the psychology and how they would interact with each other. Really interesting process. In those days you'd get a token "promo model" and that would be more than enough of today's equivalent.

...except on the 10.com.au home page not so much as a mention. Shouldn't there be a big banner ad for applications? Bizarre.
Bizarre yes since that’s where the actual STREAMING of shows is done by audiences. MasterChef is doing decent so you’d think they’d want viewers who frequent the site to see ads.

They'll probably give it a few days. They're pumping it through socials.

Even my mate was scrolling through Insta and had 2 of the BB posts pop up across 4 or so reels. He doesn't even follow them.

Interesting to note that the BB Insta has increased followers by 1k in just 2 days. (I screenshot a hell of a lot of random shit 😂)

I haven't been checking here. Not even lurking. I knew BB was returning, original format and stuff ... but we've been promised stuff before and we've been let down. So I figured I'd wait until things got a bit closer and then I'd come here to catch up. Someone then mentioned to me there was an ad or promo or something on TV, so I figured I might log in today and see the latest news ...

This thread! Dreamworld confirmed! I am ecstatic at reading this news!

Then this too! ... "The demand for a reboot of the original format has been deafening, and we have listened," SVP of Content at Paramount Australia Daniel Monaghan said, promising the reboot will honour the raw, unscripted spirit of the original series."

Things are sounding very promising indeed!
