I've been keeping away from Facebook, the media, everything, but if I were a person who went on anecdotal evidence I would say its a no vote according to all the regular bar flies that drink at my work.

That is a nice picture.
They must have taken notice. After the Kerryn Phelps ad (responding to the "my son was told he could wear a dress" ad), they got criticised for using Phelps, a wealthy doctor, for being so unrelatable to a huge segment of the people they were trying to reach. So this time they have used an "ordinary" family (or be it a well to do one from the Eastern Suburbs lol). Better but not quite there.

If the catholic church wants to refuse to preform same sex marriage I think they have the right to do so... While I believe in the right of public members to think critically I also believe that as an official representative of that organization there is an expectation that you stand behind their position wholeheartedly... A church is a private organization with a specific set of rules and ideologies and becoming an official member of staff in that organization is a choice... You either buy in or you don't...
The church already has the right to refuse *any* couple to marry as it is. That will not change. It is not - and nor will it become - an issue.
