I remember this one from my childhood too, and The Young Ones of course.

Favourite Young Ones - University Challenge, OMG .....look so many famous actors


I recall first time I saw this show, I could not believe it was real, I was astonished

That's very sad. I'm not very familiar with Leonard's music. I know a few of his songs, but I've always meant to have a proper listen. I suppose now is a good time. I love this one. Such beautiful, bittersweet lyrics. RIP Leonard.

 
Love Irish rogues, especially the Pogues @Alias....for you, Dylan on Cohen...

But his music was special too. Bob Dylan said recently of his peer: “When people talk about Leonard, they fail to mention his melodies, which to me, along with his lyrics, are his greatest genius,’ Dylan said. ‘Even the counterpoint lines—they give a celestial character and melodic lift to every one of his songs. As far as I know, no one else comes close to this in modern music. His gift or genius is in his connection to the music of the spheres.”

kicking myself I did not approach him in 1985 at Honolulu Airport when I saw him :(
