That was quick. That Chinese dating show couple I talked about on Sunday/Monday are splitsville/never was by Wednesday. It was so awkward. He wore T-Shirts, cargo shorts and runners, she wore quite sophisticated aspiring lawyer weekend fashions. His date when she went to Melbourne was a try-hard grungey hipster outdoor cafe with body language from hell. He wore his best T-Shirt. They then seemed to walk under a train underpass as the highlight.

That matchup was really so bad she chose nothing over him. I do wish there was some form of performance clause so that they had to think about a relationship rather than shooting for a free holiday.

From the Feed link you posted the snippets of the date looked awkward.
So they travelled half way round the world to find love only to find the cultural divide was the Hume Highway:p

When one of them is a Hong Kong bound corporate lawyer with limited Mandarin and the other suggested his job was personal graffiti tours of laneways in mandarin, I'm a whisperer in detecting fail.

I think in this case, she was after a slightly older and stable professional and she got a significantly younger undirected goofball.

What did you make of her potential as a corporate litigator? She didn't smack of being a pitbull to me.

I think you might have low relationship drive. There's some vestigial interest, curiosity and phantom nerve ending tingles, but the imperative is a bit scrambled. I think you're subconsciously content with the mild chase aspect, but I think if relationships were in your DNA they would have expressed by now.

There's no bird of paradise using whimsy as his bait!

Kind of i am content living a what if fantasy knowing that the reality is something i would be unsure of?
 
Also i have mentioned before how i wasn't really interested in relationships and what have you before i started interacting with ykw.

I wasn't trying to be narky. I think you should have members here place their bets on if you will be in a relationship in two years time and ask them if not, why not. Constructively.

I think your belief that you need divine self understanding and wisdom is a subconscious procrastination technique. In some of my hobbies, there are doers who start doing with a bare necessity of tools, and procrastinators like me who feel they need every tool under the sun before even starting and when they complete the set, decide that the inspration has passed.

I think self discovery or intellectualisation at the top of the diving board is a predictor of failure, not success.

Ask some hard questions here and request hard answers. For instance, I think your beard growth looked more like 2 days of not shaving than rugged designer stubble of someone trying to impress dog walking girl. I'm not saying buy a fake suit, but I think you need to exude a little more self esteem. I'm not trying to be judgey there, as not shaving is fine, but the luxury of single people. I think you need more of a plan than looking like the end of a Press Gang marathon.

who knows what the next two years will hold anyway? it would be silly for anyone to make those kind of bets.

there are plenty of reasons why i probably won't be getting in any relationship soon, the shaving thing is probably 44th on that list.
 
my psychologist said that i kind of reminded her of lewis carroll. i sure fucking hope she meant the writing and that's all.
 
- should i blog or not? will it help me in regards to writing? getting my name out and stuff like that? i suppose this is kind of a blog in a weird way. but i meant something with my real name on it. i know i show a good ninty percent of myself here, but a blog would maybe make me be one hundred percent me and not hiding behind an avatar or username? but maybe if i do blog it will get my name out so to speak? make me known? because apparently i read that publishers and stuff like that look at your social media identity and i don't really have that.

- i wonder how i would get on with a clone of me? not an actual clone but another person with exactly the same type of personality, hopes, dreams, obsessions and all that.

- i really want to see a mini series on richard nixon. i think he is a very interesting character. i don't like him, and no doubt he said and did some horrible things, but i still think he would make a great story. i mean there is that oliver stone film but that was only three hours.

- i already know the hard answers to the hard questions @Witty Banter. but that is not the issue here.
