Never again
Olives can be ok. I never liked them but when I was in Greece I forced myself to eat one a day (I know, pretty hardcore right?) and now they are ok. I don't think I'd snack on a jar of them but I don't eat around them at least.
I'm pretty sure I could live off them.

Ha ha! Must be.
sooo I may have gone a little strange and actually purchased not one but two typess of Quinoa ... i know i know ... just being in the healthy section of the stupidmarket was enough to break me out in a sweat ...
and i may or may not ... oh all right I DID attempt to make quinoa as breakfast with banana, blueberries and maple syrup
BUT i can promise you with hand on heart I will NEVER EVER EVER attempt such foolishness again
25 yr old son who was on hand to try it said after one teaspoon full ... no amount of maple syrup is going to make me eat that ...
yep we're agreed ... quinoa is simply not our thing!!!

in the meantime though we're loving the pizza oven thing i bought Mr Crimmy for Christmas ... such a sweet thoughtful gift giver I am

HAVE A NECTARINE, GONK
I went to Aldi for the first time today (they've just opened some stores in SA). Very busy, a lot of standing in line, but once we got in we were grabbing bargains left, right & centre. Not the familiar brands, but many products that you can afford to go generic on, for a good two to four dollars cheaper.
Not particularly junkfoody, but I got a huge pizza for $7. Spent $145, but that was for a very full trolley, including tons of cat food and fruit.

I actually prefer Woolies atm, only because the carpark is hassle free. Where the Aldi is going to be, it it right near Coles and it is a nightmare of a carpark.
Soon they are opening a Farmers Market Style shop called Spud Shed - So that business will give all the biggies a run for their money

yes, a good carpark is important for shopping. the new carpark at my local shopping centre is convenient but there are a few blind spots between cars and pedestrians that make it a tad tricky.
it is also good that there is competition. the big chains dominating the market is never good for any industry. i don't like that kind of monoponlisation. we usually get meat from the butchers, and vegies and salad stuff from the earth markets (or even local markets) which i feel very lucky to be able do. and when you read stories like this then i am glad there are alternatives http://www.news.com.au/finance/busi...k/news-story/85f71071dfb5489910a2c57d85fbbdb5.

It is very easy to grow Lettuce, and just take the leaves as required.
It is like that outbreak of the Berries .......
They list on the package - washed and ready to go!! If I buy these products, I Always WASH THEM. I wash everything these days. There has been many a story about prepackaged foods like this.
And with the big chains domination? Here is a real life fact, that I have lived.
When I was in the Piss Selling Business, I could go and buy my stock cheaper at the big chains, than I could buy direct from the Brewery. The Wholesaler was totally unsupportive - both the big guns. CUB and Swan. All they cared about was The Big Boys

If I bought it from the Brewery, I would have pay to freight it all, only way to make it work was to ship a pallet, so buy in bulk (60 cartons) to get $1.50 off a carton, say corona (so landed cost was around $55) that has a UBD of like 6 months - then chill it with mega coolrooms and then get abused by customers for not being competitive with those big chains - even though I was a little more expensive, like $5 - and making about $2 profit per $60
Wondering - HOW DO THESE BIG GUYS DO IT?????? They are a storeroom.
I once had someone question my price of $60 - was told I can get it for $50.00 at Woolworths, and my reply? I am not Woolworths. One day Woolworths and Coles will rule. You choose.
I was better to sell in 6 packs - and not focus on Cartons. I put the price of a 6 pack a bit cheaper than the big boys, and it did work. But I am starting to believe you can't beat the big guys, they want to take little business out and THEN WATCH OUT ............. They will then rule and we will all pay!!!!
Support Small Business or grow your own!
Oh, and I Prefer a few Cheeseburgers to a Big Mac anyday!
I used to like Fillet o Fish. but the last one I had was GROSS!

Love the pickles.Minus the pickle, does anybody like those? It's always easier to take it and get rid of it yourself, if you ask for no pickle they have to make it from scratch and it takes ages.

Is hungry jacks the same as Burger King? I said hungry jacks here the other day (when I meant Burger King, but in my mind they are the same) and everyone just looked at me.
Why wouldn't they look at you? You were asking a question.

I don't mean they looked at me and then answered and we all went on with the conversation and our lives. I mean they JUST looked at me. And the conversation and world rotation suddenly temporarily stopped. Why wouldn't they look at you? You were asking a question.
