Do you mean the original trilogy? Because Qui Jon was in the prequel. He wasnt in the original trilogy thats why perhaps you didnt know who he was.
Anyways. He was a wise slightly anti-authoritarian jedi master who was not totally into jedi groupthink.
Killed by a powerful sith apprentice named Darth Maul but is believed to have found the power to linger on eternally as a force ghost.
Always wise.
So there are the paralells I see with you.
Or I was simply running out of names to apply charcacters names to and i happenstanced upon yours.

I can only go on your Lynda Day hair. It seems nice and not unmanageable.
Kylo struggles between wanting to be bad but really being good then kind of being bad by accident then in anger sometimes on purpose and then really getting mad but regrets it and then sometimes forgets what he is mad or sad about and ask questions.
Kylo is complex. Not surprising when

is your father,
Leia
is your mother,
Luke Skywalker
is your uncle and the biggest baddest daddio in the universe is your grandfather.
Makes for a lot of conflicted thought and despairing hair tossing.:p
