I would hate it too. I never actually went to schoolies or any other end of high school equivalent of that.

I guess residents know to expect it and local businesses can profit a lot I imagine. It's only a few weeks out of the year. Still, annoying I inagine. If I think of my sister and myself at that time and multiply by thousands - I'd die if that invaded my home.

I think I'm a generation up from that lol. I even found all the noise and people from the Uni Games annoying when I was down there recently.
I'm scared - my son has 3 more years of school and I hope he matures a lot before he goes on schoolies!

Oh I couldn't handle it now. I'm pretty boring and find a well behaved crowd pretty bad, let alone a rambunctious one. Hopefully your son matures - everyone is different but they do seem to mature a lot in those last few years of school though. My brother was a child not long ago I swear, now he almost seems like a man. Well in theory, I can't take him seriously as anything other than a child.

That is a really good point. It is also a tad hilarious given Connoisseur's most recent declaration of withholding non identifying generic personal information due to his fear of it being used against him, but meanwhile he is happy to publicly announce our Leaders full name.

Thanks for asking @hooleydooley the storm was incredible. Town just recovering from one in May (my house still in the line for roof replacement) then this one hit. Thankfully no serious injuries and no houses completely wrecked but most places have some damage from a broken window or two and water getting inside through to collapsed ceilings. Roofs just couldn't cope with the tons of hail dropped in just 15 minutes. My house is absolutely fine this time. The church got lots of minor stuff and one of three roofs is pretty wrecked but thankfully only covers a patio. Lots of paperwork to do.
Trees and gardens completely stripped though. It looked like a winter wonderland. All these trees had leaves before the storm

I was chatting to a patient who is an old cane farmer today, and he says we are going to see a super storm season, Qld'ers, you heard it here first, so double check your home insurance.
