Has Jade been treated unfairly by Big brother?

Whether you believe he has or not, your original point that BB would back off from making fun of a legitimate scenario is what I'm addressing. I think it's a fair call that someone with dyslexia may have significant insecurities about their intelligence - insecurities that BB would not share, naturally. There seems to be this perception that its ok for BB to make meal out of Jade's insecurities because, in reality, she is gorgeous. Gorgeous or not, unless they protect her on eviction night the way they did Tully, her already questionable self esteem is going to get a hammering.

So true. Thanks for your post.

For those saying Jade was humiliated along with Ed in the freeze task, seriously get over it...what a rediculous thing to say
If they were humiliated then so were drew tim and boog having to stand under cold water...and what about Ed and tahan unable to respond or talk to their loved ones.....And then every single one of them with pie smashed in their face FFS

hmmmm it was the romantic setting for me. Date sabotage #2. She didn't get to eat a scrap or take a sip either. That was fuct up. At least once the freeze is over let her have something.

Actually that's called being self-deprecating and is a coping mechanism common to people with low self-esteem.

Self-deprecation does't alway mean underlying self esteem issues. It's such a common thing, especially with girls her age. I don't understand why you are being so stubborn about this. I even agreed with you. All I'm saying is BB never tried to embarrass her and if he did want a bit of a laugh it must have been verrrrry light hearted.

Agreed! Again this is big brother, a social experiment! This isn't a therapy session show, nor is it the sit around and do nothing show, bb will create drama, will set up scenes to get reactions. People will react to hm's reactions.

I might have said if BB ever did have a go at her, it must have been in a lighthearted way because Jade has casually said she's not smart. If it was something that really pains her, I doubt she could just bring it up randomly and laugh 2 seconds later.

I get what you're trying to say, but BB has absolute no moral compass if they think its OK to make fun of Jade's intelligence.

Just because Jade has said so DOES NOT give BB the licence to run with it.

It's very good that you agree with me :D

I really liked it. I thought it was the perfect viewing and if I were Jade and Ed, I would find it slightly disapointing but really funny.

I also liked that it was Tahan and Tim sent in. Anyone else would not have been as much fun to watch.

For once, I think BB nailed it. I haven't laughed so hard in ages. I've said this before, and I'll say it again, the bread in Jade and Ed's hands in place of the champaign glasses made me laugh because I am a nerd and I thought of sword fights, or light sabers. I truely found it as innocent fun.

However, to each, their own. If others want to see it as an attack, I guess that is their right :)

But bb has not run with it. Bb has not used opportunities to humiliate her dyslexia. That's the point some of us are making

I think i should clarify that its not the way BB has treated Jade in the house that is 'unfair', don't have a problem with that - it is the way she has been portrayed to Australian public.

Everyone has their good and bad edits - but the past few weeks in particular Jade has been shown in an overwhelmingly bad light.

LF's, GoE date, Daily wash etc. over the last few weeks were all designed/written to humiliate Jade and make fun of her feelings for Ed. Making Ed choose between her and the sacrificed items, splitting them up so they can't sleep together etc. If you can't see it your blind or probably a Jade hater in the first instance. Usually BB gets the balance right (highlighting both the postive and negative traits of housemates) but this balance has gone out the door.

Why are you creating an arbitrary three day window to claim Jade faces hardship?

How do you know this? Are you her family member? And did I ever say it was okay for people to try and make her look stupid?

Again expecting me to explain myself and my opinions...
The fact she is not nonstop bagging the others the second they leave the room or crying non-stop says that she is more graceful in her way or coping then others in the house.

Anyway I am bored with this. I made my point. You never had any intention of hearing a word we had to say and messaged received, we already know we are out numbered. Your work here is done. :)

I never said she was humiliated, I said it was mean. Unlike the rest she has not been given a food hand out and does not eat carbs, which is what the staple diet is, so it was mean to have them eat in front of her. I thought the family dinner thing was mean too and didnt think it was far Tim was rewarded when he was the one who broke the rules while the others went without. I know what its like not to have good food and they are all struggling. So did I think it was funny to have the food eaten in front of them while they are clearly starving or that it was funny that Tim and Tahan rubbed it in so much? No, I didnt think that was funny at all. And I was not surprised by the two chosen to eat the food.

That reminds me. What they don't put to air:

The really compelling piece by Jade about how she grew up without enough food to eat sometimes and how she worked two jobs after school (until 11:30pm plus travel) to give her mother money. The most heartbreaking piece of television I have seen for a while I think because she was so matter of fact. She was just explaining why financial security is important.

Also, the way they implied the only thing that Ed admired about Jade was her two languages, juxtaposed with her saying he was effectively flawless. That sucked. They cut he referred to her hardship growing up and how she didn't expect anything due to her looks and worked hard for her career. He also said he admired her loyalty. it was really touching.

Total bias for the storyline but in my view they missed a better storyline. Stupid Alex.

That was the most heartbreaking piece of television you have seen for a while? May I direct you to the ABC or SBS or indeed, any news channel where you can view the real horrors of the world. Growing up between the beaches of Italy and Australia, going to a Steiner school with a hippy mum is hardly the picture of misery. Reality check. Stat.

I agree some things aren't really fair, but that's been a theme with BB right from the start everyone has had their share of unfairness and favouritism all in the name of entertainment
None of those HMs are starving....there's a lot we don't see ;) so that what we do see is so much funnier
