Why align with Tim if you know he's so popular?

I mean this begs the question if they really know how popular Tim is. They certainly seemed to with Ben, based on eviction night cheering I think. I think Tim typically gets just as big a cheer but it doesn't seem to come up in the house.

I ask because I don't understand why Drew and Tahan, and especially Boog, would align themselves without someone who is such a strong contender to win. Going to the end with Tim guarantees you a loss, where as if Drew took just about any other combination to the finale he'd be in with a fighting chance. Boog in particular should realise this, since she was outside when his support was in full swing. I would expect that the moment a group of people realised someone was popular on the outside, they would do everything they could to shut him down, downplay and jokes he does make, but they're only facilitating his win, to their own detriment.

The best you can hope for is to ride his popularity and hope some of it rubs off on you, and then hope he trips and stumbles right near the end. But that's a lot of hoping.

Am I making any sense here? I hope so, haha.

Whilst it's getting towards the end of the game I think it's still the best strategy is to align yourself with Tim. The HMs have to know he popular and like we saw with Heidi turning against him isn't really smart.

I would just align with fun and hope for the best....more fun your having the more likely you are to stick around. If you can't beat em join em. I'm not to proud (to beg) or to say That I couldn't beat Tim so may as well maximise the fun while you can

Drew has no chance

Agreed. As if you would avoid the people you enjoy hanging out with. If you're playing the game that hard it would be impossible to come across likeable. You'd only have stick up the arse syndrome like Ed.

Firstly they're with these people 24/7 it's not always going to be about the "game"
And secondly if you have fun you get noticed...tonights episode was proof of that, i never liked mikkayla anyway but my opinion of jade just dropped and Madeline looked like a boring old lady...

Maybe, hanging out with McJade is just so torturous that they would rather hang with the competition.

It doesn't matter if housemates chose not to laugh at Tim's jokes - the public would still laugh and conclude that the other hms were being killjoys, which is not a good look when you want the public to like you.

The trick for any housemate to win is to be natural and true to themselves. Unless of course they're naturally horrible and depressing. Tahan gets praise for her strength even though in the past she has been childish and mean, she hasn't flipped and flopped like Ed or Mikkayla.

Before Tim went into the house he told Sonia that he would be the guy who said the things the public wanted a hm to say, and in that respect he's been true to his word; he's been honest and straight-talking with the other hms, sometimes brutally so, which has earned him the respect of the public.

You're probably right. I think I'm just frustrated because that sort of makes the ending pre-ordained. From the moment the series was cast, Tim was going to win and there was never anything anyone could have done. Coming from a massive Survivor fan, that's pretty frustrating (and sort of makes nominations and superpowers a bit pointless, you could give him 40 points and it wouldn't make a difference). Anyway, I'm not complaining too much, I still love the show, I just hope that the winner gets there with some degree of skill.

Regardless of what happens in the next few days, Mikkayla, Jade, Ed and Maddy need to collectively agree that Tim needs to go. If they want a fighting chance, they need to nom him for 4 PT's each every week til the end. I'd like to see him go.

Yeah but until last eviction it was clear Ben was going to win, even over Tim. I think Tim deserves to win the most for his entertainment and gameplay this season. So I was glad Ben left for that reason alone. Tim would not have beaten Ben in a finale voting scenario.

Yeah if they do that two of them will go up a against him each week meaning they just evict themselves.

...and one by one they fall when up against him on the red bench. This leaves them with either one of 2 options.

1. Keep on going down this road of nominating him and lose anyway.
2. Stop nominating him and get rid of each other and hope your the one left standing on the last day against Tim.

The next nomination battle Tim wins on a public vote against the 'bigger' players/originals he will stop getting nominated and the rest will begin to cannibalise each other.

What's wrong with the person that wins being the most deserving?? I get that it's boring if we are just watching to a pre-ordained ending but nothing is an absolute guarantee. I think Tim deserves to win but I also thinks others have a chance still.

tim at 17.8%? i doubt he'll even make it til the end

apart from Tahan on 32% cough cough. Last week noms were all on or around 17% including the two massive favs [tim & ben] so your point Tim cannot make it to the end, would mean no one can apart from Tahan.

I know most ppl think Ben was the favourite over Tim, even the betting odds, but I'm not too sure about that. Recently, Ben's repetitive "cuteness" was becoming tiresome (some of ppl are also getting sick of Tim I must add). But the difference between Tim and Ben's vote was only 23 votes when they were up against each other. This was when they didn't show Tim's save me number, and they showed Ben's twice, which could've had some sort of impact on the voting. Would've been interesting though if they were final 2.
