I'm on and off him constantly
Yup.. I liked him today. 'I'm in the pool guys' lol and hugging Drew and Tully when she was bawling and joking with Mikkayla when she was upset and joking with Drew about not being gay and having a wife and kids blah blah. It was all quite good and then other times he is frustrating and too odd.
Obviously the producers knew the odds of him winning the fake eviction tonight so it is part of why he got a focus of good edit clips tonight.

I thought Ben was really funny tonight when he was talking to Drew.
You wait till you get out of here and you meet the real me...
You wait till you meet my wife and kids...
I'm not even gay...
I hate pyjamas...
I don't even need these glasses... they're not even prescription...
This is the role of a life-time for me

I'm gradually liking Ben, I thought he had some funny moments tonight. If we saw more of this Ben, I think he'd deserve to win.
I agree he had some funny moments, but then he overacted for the camera. If he was more natural in his acting I would like him more, sometimes he just makes me cringe. Specially the thinking aloud, no one does that, that is over acting

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Nearly every time I start to like him, he plays up for the cameras by talking to himself or doing a little dance or something. I wish he would stop trying to exaggerate his 'quirkiness', although it has gotten him quite far in terms of popularity.
I mentioned some similar stuff just now in the Ben thread. I'll go one now.
Tonight we saw the good of Ben. Him being quite funny. Joking around. That's entertaining and amusing.
Him in the pool when Drew and Tully were going off, was a funny moment of his awkwardness.
You know what though, we also saw the bad side of Ben. It's played off for laughs but it's core to the problem with him.
On the official site video of the episode. Around 18.30.
Tully and Drew are talking. Tully is crying. Ben walks past doesn't ask what's going on. Doesn't even seem to notice or care at how upset Tully is. No awareness of the situation. No awareness of the emotions going on. Then starts talking about himself. Could you imagine living with someone like this?
He walks up says some rattled off shit about not going to bed angry. Mentions it's his last day and then kisses them saying they are nice to him. All while Tully is balling her eyes out.
Also I think it really shows the worrying side many of us have seen in his personality for a while now.
You put this sort of behavior in context with clips we've seen before of him annoyed people aren't giving him time, saying hello. I honestly think he's a complete narcissist and lacks the ability to understand social situations or empathize with anyone. He's totally focused on himself.
That's also why we get the Ben show. Him just in his own Ben focused world.
It's annoying and not entertaining to watch.

Last night it was "The Ben show" and it was one of my favourite episodes for a while. I think he was aware what was going on with Tully and he did what he could to show he cared. The way he diffused the Mikkayla crying situation was brilliant. Make them laugh! The pool scene, while unintentional was still hilarious, and I loved Drew's reaction of hysterical laughter. You can tell Drew and Ben have a good relationship, and I think Ben brings out the best in Drew. His reaction to the photo swap was perfect, and had me laughing along with him.
I didn't think so before hand, but now I do think he is going to handle the fake evictee role well.

Ben probably didn't want to ask because he felt awkward and was just trying to lighten up the situation.
Yes in your opinion but in mine Ben is probably one of the most entertaining housemates...up there with Tim.
Lighten it up for the viewers at home or for the people there?
I think that's the problem He's the Ben show for the cameras. Not a real person.

Again that's what you think, but many disagree.Lighten it up for the viewers at home or for the people there?

No, lighten up for Tully and Drew...it's what you do in situations like that, for all the bullshit about his 'fakeness' he does things that most people would do in those situations.

No he talked about himself. As Heidi pointed out, he just talks about himself and is not interested in others. I don't see what at all he was doing. It also wasn't a moment for that. Someones crying, you don't come over to lighten the mood. You give people space, or you comfort them. Don't just skip and jump over saying how nice they are to you, ignoring what is going on.
It's not about fakeness, it's about his lack of social and emotional awareness combined with being a narcissist.

Yeah, as usual with you, this is what you would do but it isn't what everyone would do.No he talked about himself. As Heidi pointed out, he just talks about himself and is not interested in others. Some people don't want you to leave, and not everyone handles situations exactly the same.

But there's generally social norms.
If he got a giant stick with poo on the end and shoved it Tully's face. You could say, 'yes that isn't what you'd do, but not everyone handles situations in the same way.'
