Herb Ellis was one of the masters. I know these blokes look like they are doing a midday gig at a nursing home, but the talent is unmistakeable.

When he goes into improv mode (looks like an old man talking to himself and about to dribble) he is annotating the chords in his head...trying to be one step ahead of the rhythm ...it is an incredible art to master.

funny thing too funny (quirky) the masquarer (sp) is the same as the late Engish Artist who could sing like an angel.

I used to smile when on muso blogs people would say "wtf is with her eye makeup" I once said "Its from Etta James" I was shot down so I ignored it but it is fairly well known.

And with Whinehouse...she idolised all of these women (as she should have) and got to a point where she was on par. I hate that she's gone.

I havent looked on wiki but etta was an amazing lady with a similar story and a rare talent. Hope when im gorn there will be new talent like her.
