Don’t dismiss everything you read on April Fools Day - some of it is actually true!

No, Rick Astley isn’t rolling up as a housemate for BB08 - but yes, a housemate in the Philippines has now been circumcised in the Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus house, and yes, 100 viewers were also circumcised courtesy of Big Brother.

On the eve of the planned circumcision Big Brother confirmed with Alex that it was something he was doing for himself, not just due to peer pressure - though of course there was no confirmation Big Brother wasn’t just doing it as a ploy to boost ratings.

Now, it just so happens that one of the housemates fathers is a doctor - and conveniently, they are in the house as part of the “Guardian” twist, in which an older relative of each teen housemate has also moved in. Therefore, Doctor Boy Domingo was on hand to perform the procedure. The other boys, all of whom are already circumcised, also assisted in the procedure, which followed the traditional “pukpok” method - details at the bottom of this page if you can handle it.

It doesn’t end there though - circumcision alone isn’t big enough for Big Brother, so of course it’s got to be turned into a secret twist. Although all the boys knew of Alex’s planned circumcision and assisted in the actual event, the girls have not been told. And that’s the way it’s too remain - though curiosity meant the girls, having figured out somebody was to be circumcised, are now trying to figure out who.
