What we know so far

Time for a rumour round-up!

Business has picked up in the past couple of weeks. Meetings have been happening behind closed doors, and we’ve been hearing little tidbits of information left, right and center.

But instead of making you pick through various forum topics (not that there’s anything wrong with our forums) and reading through awesome blogs written by hot chicks with insider connections, we’ve gathered together all the tasty bits of news that we’ve heard lately. Let’s make a list!

  • That smelly animal farm is gone. Shame, it always gave the daily show team a solid 20 seconds of compelling footage every week.
  • A “cosy, COSY sleeping area.” Interesting.
  • Totally refreshed Sunday/Monday show sets. You know, the kind of thing we should get EVERY year!
  • Speaking of those Sunday/Monday shows, they won’t be what you think - the plan is for Nominations to take place Sunday nights, alongside the evictions! Mondays will see the normal daily show, as well as a new panel/discussion program later on at 9.30. We haven’t yet confirmed if it will be called ‘The Insider’!
  • Some kind of new area or extension to the house. A garage? An attic? A communal dunny? Who knows; we’ll find out in about seven weeks!
  • Lastly, in what is perhaps the biggest blow to BB fans everywhere, it looks like Uplate is gone. We at BBBA were always fans of the interactive late-night game show (which occasionally even featured live streaming from the house!), particularly with their enthusiastic on-air promotion of our site. Even the HMs once tuned in for a bit of late night entertainment!

Probably factoring into this decision is Ten’s acquisition of the TV rights for the new Indian Premier League Cricket, which will see games broadcast almost every night throughout April, May and June. Nevertheless, we’re hoping that there could still be some form of nighttime live streaming on Ten HD. Even with the heavy delays and censorship, having some live BB on our screens would still save a sizeable chunk of Internet bandwidth for the avid feed-watchers.

One last thing - there’s been quite a bit of speculation about this in recent weeks, but DQ also reports that the phone calls are finally being made to the first round of short-listed HMs. Go to her blog for more info.

Anyway, that’s it for this rumour mill update. Just remember to treat all this information as just that - rumours that are always subject to change. To our friends at ESS - please don’t get too upset about your secret plans coming out. That’s just the nature of the industry today isn’t it? We’re just trying to feed the frothing mouths of your most dedicated fans and besides, we’re sure you’ll still have a couple of nice surprises for us come Day 1!
