New late show!! - Late Night Feast (Tuesdays)

Under the dome is lame. It's aliens, read the books.

Anyway, this is good news still.

Woah spoiler alert!! Haha but yeah that's what I meant when I said I think numbers will drop off when people realise what is creating the dome. If you hadn't read the book you might night realise that its actually sci-fi

Yeah but see, while I agree about the hesitations regarding Late Night Feast, don't forget that they've already got Confidential still. So what they promised for the "original" Confidential premise became what we know as Confidential now - they're not going to duplicate similar footage styles. Therefore, this new show will be, generally speaking, what it's saying it is.

Naturally, as history as proven, we can't always trust things until we see it for ourselves, but I wouldn't decrease our hopes just yet.

In all honesty I would rather they axe Confidential and just put on Late Night Feast instead. DO you think this will happen? x

Confidential shouldn't have come back this year, but at least they're doing it a lot better than last year.

I'd like to see Confidential focus on the funny 'bloopers' style content that they don't have time for in the DS and Late night to be a REAL adult show. Not a smut show, just adult conversations which can't be seen in DS

Agreed... Confidential for the kiddies and the Late night feast for us older folk... As I said before a tiny bit of smut would be nice... However that shouldn't be the shows focus...

I can understand a bit of why there is no dedicated live feed, however a nightly two hour block from 10:30 - 12:30 would be nice... I really don't care if it's recorded with an hour delay with a host filling in the gaps where things need to be blacked out...

Even with Alex's logic it can't be hard to have the HM's be on their best behavior for 2 hours a night and having a content screener on hand for a few hours to screen content before it goes to air can't be that expensive...

BB Canada had an exclusive sponsor for it's live feeds earlier in the year so surely bringing an extra sponsor on board, BB would recoup most of the revenue... Also having the content pre-screened and then having the live host fill in gaps would ensure very little unacceptable behavior is broadcast...

This is some decent news... However given that everything else Nine has dished out so far, it will be highly edited and watered down... It probably won't stray too far from the boarders of the "family friendly" image...

Sadly with my other comment in mind I think this will probably go the way of BBUK's nightly feed trial... They give us a bit of what we want only for it to be executed poorly and then taken it back only to say they were right all along...

I hope for the sake of all you loyal fans out there, that I'm wrong... And there is also a bit of me that wishes they'd bring back just a tiny portion of the smuttiness of Uncut... Smut doesn't always equal the soft-core porn from the TEN era, I think it can be done in a tasteful manner...

I get that feeling too. I feel like the closest we'll get to adult is kissing techniques or something like that. For a 9.30 time slot they're not going to be able to show much. When I was a kid I was still watching TV at that time that's for sure.

Remember how I ranted about Embarrassing Bodies being on at 9.30 and it was horrifically graphic... Well maybe people from BB saw this and passed on the message to Ch 9 because I did mention that time-slot... Just saying

Watershed broadcasting rules means that they are allowed to show MA content from 9pm. If you are a kid and still watching, that is the responsibility of your parents.

On Australian television, programmes are restricted to certain times based on their rating. PG-rated programmes can be shown between 08:30 and 16:00, as well as later than 19:00, M-rated programmes can be shown from 20:30, and MA programmes from 21:00. As well as this, M-rated programmes can also be shown from 12:00 to 15:00 on school days.

Thanks for that. Yes I agree, the parents need to take responsibility for this one. If Late Night Feast is controversial and there's articles in the paper about parents complaining I will roll my eyes. These parents know better not to let kids watch this after all it isn't even a family show.

I know I'm off topic, but:

It's one thing that puzzles me about Nine's sponsorship of BB. Other than Ambi Pur and KFC, there's nothing. Songl and SpotJobs are Nine "partners" rather than sponsors. Ch10 seemed to be able to rally a few more (game consoles, travel agents, mobile telcos, personal care products etc). I wonder if the sponsorship coordinator is having difficulty wrangling deals. With Holden's bad publicity recently, they appear to have been dropped or pulled out.

The creators of the show have already said that the show ending will be completely different to how the book ends, so it might not be aliens.

They egg suggests it will still be aliens. But yes, it has to be different from the book - especially if they want to make this a lost-type multi season show.

As I said before in regards to the late night show it's survival is extremely dependent on it's ratings and how poorly it's being executed... I suspect strong ratings for it's first showing, however if it's the same watered down, heavily edited dribble that's being dished out on all the other shows I would be surprised if it lasts 3 episodes... This way Alex M will make it look as if it is the fans fault the show failed just like BBUK did with it's nightly live feed...

The thing with the ratings is, they want it to rate well enough so it doesn't get axed, but they also don't want it to rate so well that Channel 9 thinks it would be a good idea to move it to an earlier slot, like they did with Confidential last year. At least they have "late night" in the title this year, though that could always be changed.

If they truly show MA content then they can't move it without changing its purpose. I think if it fails it will just be dropped.

People die in Game of Thrones. News at 11.

Forgive me, Goon, for I am about to go offtopic. But, I have to make sure everyone has heard this:

Why isn't George RR Martin on Twitter?
Because he killed all 140 characters.

. Righto. Now... which thread was I in? ... I've given a bit more thought to the "new" show; I genuinely hope that it's just one-on-one interaction; not segued from one scene to another. But, I trust in the professionals, and will watch on the 27th hell or high water.

Just hoping that the post 9.00 timeslot means we'll cop an actual ... emphatic swear word; show us the housemates, not the housemates you'd take home to your grandmother.

wait, late night feast?
what night is the family dinner on?
are we just gonna get a full show around the weekly dinner?

otherwise the name makes no sense...

edit: but then again, confidential....
