Julie Chen confirmed on her instagram that BB26 will have a two night premiere on July 17th & 18th. Many online are speculating whether or not this the series will be shortened and if the move in will no longer be live.

CBS announced Big Brother 26’s premiere date and schedule today, and unlike recent seasons, it might not stretch to 99 days. And hopefully, it won’t feature Frankie Grande, like last season.

It was only lengthened again last year due to the strike - they had been shortening it slightly before that. I'm indifferent on the premiere being live - main benefit is week one feeds but TV wise the live premieres have never been great.

I still think though they should add an extra show per week and have two evictions a week considering in real time the evictee is usually known by Saturday night anyway. That could shorten the show to around 8 weeks which would fit more with this scheduling.

this is what got me to just give up on watching the feeds in the last few weeks last year. By the end of the weekend the result was pretty much determined and there was occasional back and forth in between, but most of the time the initial target just went home anyway
