THE COUCH - TV Chat Thread

I generally avoid shooting into closed doors. Especially when I don't know whether the only other person I expect to be in the house is in that room or not. And especially when the room I'm shooting into is the one they are most likely to be in. That's just me though.

I only just heard about Utopia. Got season 1 now and will watch soon.

It's probably been mentioned somewhere already and I know it's not in the 'wow' category like other shows but for some reason I really enjoyed Orphan Black. Easy entertaining watch.

That said - True Detective and House of Cards are still my clear winners in the TV arena of recent(ish) times

Hope everyone is well and happy :)

Recentish being the last six months? Breaking Bad only finished last year.

Anyone else tried The Leftovers yet?

All the American religious nutbaggery tends to put me off, but the episode focusing on Christopher's Eccleston's character as he attempts to raise money for his church I thought was just fantastic.

Same I was on the edge of my seat during the scene at the casino. That ep was good but the rest have been very very depressing. I'll keep with it just so I can listen to this podcast about it, which I'm enjoying slightly more than the show itself.

I just finished watching Orphan Black a couple of weeks ago - LOVED it (LOVED Felix)

Is anyone else watching Ray Donovan? I know some of the story lines in the first season were questionable but it probably has the best cast on TV right now.

I love Orphan Black too! Tatiana Maslany is amazing. I wonder if the male clones are sterile and prone to cancer too?

I love Naked and Afraid! Once I started watching this show, I lost interest in Survivor.

Every time I go to sit down to watch naked and afraid I hope that they do one in Australia but still after 2 and a bit seasons they still have not been here. I wonder why? Perhaps it's to do with the amount of deadly spiders and snakes, too risky I guess.

OMG I love Miguel the Spanish cook on Living Room, he's effervescent.
And he & the unbelievably handsome vet, are very cute together

His strong accent intrigues me. The Living Room is far more entertaining (for me) than Better Homes.

Do you still get The Last Leg on ABC? A new series began tonight with probably it's best ever episode. If you're a fan of The Inbetweeners you will love it - every last second of it!

Was so intriguing about it? He sounds no different to anybody else who speaks English with a heavy spanish influenced accent. lol I guess you must find that Manu frenchie chef's accent 'intiguring' as well. :p

I swear Manu's accent gets thicker with every season.

I don't watch MKR. But I do enjoy listening to many different accents. I don't know anyone who speaks like Miguel so that's why I find him intriguing.

Although I'm not a big watcher of aussie tv shows in general (mainly torrents), I agree the first time I heard this dude speak (channel surfing months ago, can't remember exactly) his accent was no where near as thick as it sounds nowadays.

He must've figured out the more he plays off his foreign accent the more chicks swarm around him like bees to honey. ;)

They are a dime a dozen around my neck of the woods. :whistling:

Yeah - for anyone who missed Broadchurch 1st time, like me I missed an episode and never caught up - repeats start tonight.

ABC 1, 10.20pm

Do you remember Gabriel Gate? I heard him interviewed once ages and ages ago and the interviewer asked if he'd changed his name to sound more French. Gabriel replied that no, he hadn't had his name changed by death toll. Too funny!

God knows what I've ordered in French restaurants with my schoolgirl French. "Ooh, I think I'll have the baby feet basted in putrid juice of mouse vomit. Delicieux!"
