Big Brother is moving to an earlier timeslot after all

But only on certain days of the week.

Starting on Monday October 13 and lasting for at least two weeks is a weekly schedule change which sees show starting times vary from as early as 7:30 and as late as 8:40.

Inconsistent show starting times

Aside from the changing start times, which will generally be earlier at night than at present, the two weekly live shows will be moving from Mondays and Tuesdays to Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as previously reported.

The rundown for the weeks of at least Oct 13-19, Oct 20-26 and possibly further weeks are as follows:

  • Monday: Daily Show, 8:30-10:00 (90 mins);
  • Tuesday: Live Eviction Show, 7:30-9:00 (90 mins);
  • Wednesday: Live Show, 8:40-10:10 (90 mins) on Oct 15 & 8:30-10:30 (120 mins) on Oct 22;
  • Thursday: Daily Show, 8:00-9:00 (60 mins);
  • Friday: Daily Show, 7:30-8:00 (30 mins).

The fate of the Big Brother: Sunday episode is unknown at this time. It will be taking a break next week as The Block: Glasshouse Auction special and a double episode Gotham premiere take up much of the night. But on the following Sunday, October 19th and week 1 of the adjusted schedule, things are less clear. While no Big Brother show is currently listed, an hour slot at 6:30-7:30 is listed as TBA between Nine News and 60 Minutes. UPDATED: TV guides are now suggesting Big Brother is out of Sunday’s schedule altogether from hereon.

The format of the Sunday show differs from other daily shows in as much as it is heavily centred around the antics from the alcohol-fuelled house party which occurs every Friday night. Big Brother: Sunday follows in the footsteps of last year’s Late Night Feast M-rated rated show, which aired on Tuesdays for a few weeks last year, but adapted to fit within a PG classification.

  1. Why make the viewer run around, with shows starting at all different times.
    I’m all in for an earlier time slot, but having almost each day start at different time, cant be good for some less enthusiast viewers.

  2. Ah, that moment when the network realizes they need to escape being against other shows rather than putting faith in their own product.

    Call it the Amazing Race Australia effect.

  3. A bit late now to move to a reasonable time slot. First year I haven’t seen even one episode (doesn’t sound like I’ve missed much!)

  4. I miss the old structure of Big Brother: Sunday evictions, Monday nominations, Friday night games… and of course starting at the same time slot everyday

  5. It’s getting abit boring now.. Need to do something exciting.. Reverse the hotel task ..

  6. OMG….How do you expect to have any viewers with all these different time changes and day changes? You make it so hard to keep up with. If your ratings are down, you might want to look at all these different starting times as a problem. Why not stick to the one time slot?
